Julia Maki's staff page


Julia Maki is a Research Assistant III in the agro-ecology program at MAERC.  She has a B.A in a self-designed interdisciplinary Environmental Studies program from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. She developed a strong interest in ecology while working on an undergraduate research project studying bryophytes in a hemlock-dominated stream at the Harvard Forest Long Term Ecological Research Site. Julia was hired as a temporary research assistant last June and took over as the main agroecology assistant in August, 2008. Here at MAERC, her main focus has been the USDA wetlands project. Before coming to MAERC she worked in the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation's Native Plant Nursery, and is enjoying the opportunity to continue working and living in Florida.
